Organic cotton is great in terms of avoiding the chemicals you may come in contact with through conventional cotton. However, about 60% of the energy used in the life cycle of a cotton T-shirt (for example) is related to postpurchase washing and drying at high temperatures, so be sure you’re being eco-friendly at that end as well!
