Vintage Toddler Toys

Recognize any of these beauties? I feel like they were already fairly dated when I was a kid, but they still seem so familiar — especially the phone and the TV. Maybe they weren't old, but at my house, since they'd already been through 4 other kids before I came along, they just seemed vintage.

If you're feeling sentimental, then good news for you! Each of these fab toys has been reissued. You can find them (brand new) at Warm Biscuit. A good fit for Grandma's playroom, if not for yours.

I recognize all four. The only one you are missing is the popcorn popper. Fisher-Price still sells it but it's plastic now, of course. Mine was made from wood.

These are the toys I gifted the kids with for Christmas (almost 2 and 3.5) and they love them. I feel so happy when I see them having fun with them since it brings back so many great memories with my sister and grandma's house. You can also find them at back to basic toys online.

These toys can all be found in our toy closet at the church nursery. Maybe they've been there so long they're finally cool again.

I love that. When I have tried to get the new versions, they always have lights or "talk" boo!!! We love Back to Basics Toys. They have ALL the reissued stuff from our youth (remember the big plastic rocking horse that sat on a frame and had springs on each side.... good times).

Love the cash register...

Target was carrying a few of these cool toys before Christmas. I'm not sure if they still are.

I love that place! I had my eye on this site a while back! Unfortunately all my kids are past the age of wanting to play with such things! Well, my two year old might like them but he is very much into copycatting his big brothers so I sort of doubt it. But they have lots of cute other stuff for the older kids too... I want some of their wind up robots!

The big question is, would our kids even know how to dial a phone like this one? My son (2) uses a cheerio as cell phone ear piece and in his mind practically anything small and rectangle can be a phone -- an iPod, a calculator, etc!

I bought a vintage version of the little tv before my last miscarriage. I had to have one after I saw an artist who was using them for picture frames. And kids have no clue what a rotary phone is. I have a real rotary phone in my kitchen, and I had to explain to my fifteen year old neighbor how to use it. He had never even seen one.

Happy Weekend!
