Lost in Houston

So I've kind of disappeared, but I didn't mean to. I'm in Houston sk*rting it up with Laurie and Laura. I thought it would be internet central and that I'd be blogging like crazy, but it turns out this trip has been all about meetings. Meetings. Meetings. Meetings.

Meeting business advisors for sk*rt. Meeting web 2.0 people for brunch. Meeting cool people like Katherine Center and Karen Walrond (who took the fantastic photo above — thank you, Karen!). A meeting of the minds with Laurie and Laura.

This is my first time in Houston. I love it. I really love it. It's green. It's 74 degrees. The architecture is charming. And there are excellent restaurants all over the place. My already enormous hair has frizzed to gigantic proportions in the thick humidity. I'm officially living large in Texas.

I fly back to New York tomorrow. I'll be blogging again on Thursday. Can't wait.

Oh! And I'll announce the lucky Quiet Hours Toys Giveaway winner on Thursday as well.

Hooray for frizzy hair! I've "tagged" you (only if you want to be tagged, that is :)). I'm guessing you may have done this before, but check out the rules on my blog if you're interested: http://www.junienone.blogspot.com

Welcome to Zion!! As they say in Texas! Houston is my hometown...I'm so glad you're liking it. I think Houston is a pleasant surprise for most people.

Aren't the restaurants great!? My husband and I always leave 5 pounds heavier after visiting my family.

I'm glad your first visit wasn't in the summer: hot, hot, hot, made much worse by the ultra hight humidity and going into shock everytime you enter or leave a building due to the freezing cold air conditioning! Ah...Houston!!

I've never been to Texas so I'm so jealous. Sounds like an awesome place to visit. Have a safe trip.

Next time you're in Texas, you should visit Austin -- it's the best city there, although Houston can be pretty fun, too (I'm a native Texan in case y'all can't tell). : )

Yes, I need help with Skirt, too. It tells me I'm logged on, etc., but it won't let me vote or make comments. I have plenty to say :) but often I just give up.

Great photo of the Skirt Founders.

What a fabulous photo of you ladies! You must be having a wonderful time! My baby brother has been to Houston several times for his job and, being a native New Englander, he really enjoys it down there. Can't beat that weather this time of year, that's for certain!
