The lovely Allysha of Bells on Their Toes sent me a link to these amazing wood blocks by Alexander Girard.
Wood blocks can be expensive, and these are no different. But oh how pretty these would be when they're scattered across the playroom floor. Available from House Industries.

i gave a set of these blocks to my son for his first birthday last month. they are meant to be an heirloom for him and his future family, and they are fabulous! these are toys i actually want to pick up, just so i can feel them in my hand and make pretty patterns as i put them back in the box!
Those are great!
love them! they are beautiful! it's toys like this, that i don't mind seeing on the floor!
