Introducing Lindsey Rose Johnson!
Get ready for a wonderful week here at Design Mom — Hooray! — because Lindsey Johnson is our Guest Mom. Which means too much fun for everybody. I am just itching to see the lovely posts she's sure to come up with.
Some of you may know Lindsey already from her excellent blog Café Johnsonia. She posts frequently and is always a thoughtful commenter, which makes hers an extra-good blog to get to know. She is also a great friend to many and a woman of many talents. But she's the kind of person who is so humble that you would have no idea how widespread her talents and interests are — if you didn't get a glimpse of her life through her blog (thank goodness for blogs!). I asked Lindsey to write-up a little intro, and she graciously agreed.
Welcome Lindsey!! Now in her own words:
I am totally honored to be your Guest Mom this week.
What can I tell you about me? Well, I'm pretty simple and straightforward.
I am a stay-at-home mom to Lilly, almost 2 ½ years, and Fritz, 9 months. My husband, Fred, is a very smart-dressing librarian and college professor. We live just north of Manhattan.
In a previous life, I slept more. (Ah, I miss those days!) Now if I'm not changing diapers, vacuuming baby powder off my son, or scrubbing crayon off the walls, I'm blogging about it. And if I'm not doing those things, you'll find me in the kitchen cooking/baking up a storm. And if I'm not doing that, I'm documenting it all with my Nikon D70—it's never far from my reach. (I like to think of myself as an amateur photographer.)
I also love all kinds of music, art, art history, and literature.
Someday I'll own my own bakery, Café Johnsonia. And when I do, I invite you come on over and sit down for some kouing aman and lemonade, and we'll have a good chat.

I'm personally excited, since I created her, well I helped ... You will love, if you don't already, Lindsey's contribution to design.mom. She does great blogging herself!

YAY Tomorrow is your birthday I hope that's when you'll be blogging about the birthday cake and ice cream. Do you remember 19 years ago when I was born? I love you, I'm so glad you were born.

I am a recent convert to Lindeys' blog and I have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.... Lindsey, you are doing all the things that I love, but doing them just a little bit better. :-) We need to talk cameras someday...

Bek--I'm so happy to read your blog, too. Let's do talk cameras. You are a WAY better photographer than I am. I totally look to you for some inspiration on that.
I just love beautiful, wonderful, Lindsey for so many reasons. (And Fred's pretty great too.) I am looking forward to being inspired, especially as far as cooking goes. I really want to be a more organized food shopper!
I can't wait for this week of posts! I really want to read about dressing the gentleman.
it's going to be a good week. i'm especially interested in the cake and ice cream post... we've got a krypto the superdog party coming up soon, and i'd love to view some good recipes!
I LOVE Kouing Aman...and I am lucky enough to know the only woman in the US to make them (at least that I'm aware of)--Romina Rasmussen in SLC's Les Madeleines Patisserie. Yum! I'm jiving with you already...it should be a fun week.

I LOVE ROMINA!!! Her KA are THE BEST!!! I'm hoping to be her slave girl over the summer and learn her techniques. I met her last summer when I was in UT. We should talk....we are jiving. Anyone who loves KA as much as I do, is already a friend!
